NOVA FIELD NOTES / BUYING GUIDE

AC vs DC EV charging

Plan around the vehicle, parking time and electrical supply—not the largest power number.

AC charging for longer parking periods

The TECharge brochure lists Type-2 AC chargers at 7.4 kW single phase and 11 or 22 kW three phase. AC charging relies on the vehicle’s onboard charger, so the vehicle can limit the power actually accepted. A higher-rated wall unit does not guarantee a faster session for every car.

DC charging for different operating needs

The brochure lists DC units at 60, 80, 120 and 160 kW with dual CCS2 connectors. DC charging requires planning for available site capacity, parking access, operating patterns and the vehicles served. Actual charging speed varies with vehicle limits, battery condition and charging conditions; brochure power is not a guaranteed session rate.

Private and shared use need different planning

Private parking may suit a personal charger, while a shared site needs decisions about user access, monitoring and billing. The brochure distinguishes private BLE connectivity from public connected variants and describes SmartComm CMS and the TECharge app. Confirm the chosen hardware variant, connectivity and software scope in the quote.

Prepare a site brief

Send the vehicle models, number of bays, typical parking duration, available supply and intended private or public use. Include cable routing and mounting constraints. A qualified installer should assess electrical capacity and protection before the final charger is ordered. Request installation and software costs separately from hardware for a clearer comparison.
