  • Cold water tap: CPVC or PVC

Solar / Geyser

  • Solar heater outlet: Approved metal for the first metre, then rated CPVC
  • Geyser inlet/outlet: CPVC may serve the cold inlet; keep the first metre of the hot outlet in approved metal
  • PVC near a geyser: Will deform and leak
  • Long hot-water runs: Provide offsets, loops or supports for thermal expansion as the manufacturer directs

External / Underground

  • Water main from overhead tank: CPVC
  • Underground water supply: GI or CPVC
  • External drainage: PVC
